Growing Up Online
doesn't surprise me:
- kids are always connected to the internet
- or they are always chating/messaging
- there are predators in the internet online that can look at you
- there are sexual predators online
- random people add you and ask you for your address and personal info
- girls have many eating disorders
- kids get drunk on concert and make disturbances in the concert
- parents take action on drunk video and notify the school, kids get in trouble
- picture hide some conversations
- people delete conversations and take pictures of them
- fame through pictures in the internet
- fight on the internet
Surprises Me:
- kids cannot get out of the internet well they have nothing else to do
- kids now do not read books they spark-notes them
- no privacy
- teachers now accept the fact that wee get information from websites such as Spark Notes.
- people are being sexually solicited online by internet predators
- people pray to goddess Ana for being skinnier
- kid suicides because he got bullied by the kids at his school/ cyber bullying
- all the hidden secrets in a kids computer
- under age kids upload a video of them drunk to the internet
- a dad didn't call back the dad of the kid who suicided
- forums for anorexic \
- internet acccelerates a kid suicidal thoughts
Changed:
- no one now has a Myspace
- people now a days have more possibilities of privacy
- now a days kids are less addicted to the computers
- parents now a days do not worry so much about
- now a days cyber bullying is very common
- now parents don't go or hack their children accounts or they can't
- people do not add strange people anymore
- less public drinking
- people can now be easily tracked
- phones are more complex
- computers are more advanced
- more protection online by more recent software
- I identified the most to the topic about sometimes your parents get worried or scold you for being such a long time on the internet. My mom is always scolding me for spending so much time online and procrastinating my homeworks and duties. but at least she doesn't request my password and tell me I have to give it to her. But she tries to add me as a friend so that she can see my pictures and everything. Although I still do not add her as a friend.
- the topic of suicide. I have never in my life had suicidal thoughts due to an online experience. Never have ever thought of committing suicide and never will I think it.\
- I think they should just back off give the kids some space unless things get really serious like suicide and bullying and the kid doesn't tell them anything. That is when parents should get involved.
- to make new friends, and be socially available at all times. So that you can interact more with the world and the people in it. Online not only works for friends but for example if you have a job you vcan be connected and talk to your boss from any part of the world.

Swiss school
- SUMAS first sustainability school in Europe it is located in Switzerland in the city of Gland
- it is in the modern building of the IUCN
- this school tries to unite business administration with sustainability trying to join them together.
- very nice to live in Switzerland
- offers bachelor and master at business administration in sustainability management
- you can measure your ecological footprint
- by 2050 if we make no change in our way of living well need twice the earths surface to absorb our waste and CO2
- pushing industry to strife for more ecological ways and alerting the consumers to be cautious when buying goods.
- we are causing global warming, the hottest 10 years in the world have occurred in the past 14 years.
- moral issue not a political issue
- global warming causing larger storms
- if the Artic melts the sea level; world wide would rise 20 feet.
- if 100,000 refuges have a big impact how much would 100,000,000
- plane that flies only with solar power/energy.
- difficulties can turn into potential opportunities.
- pioneering spirit: think and act out of the box..
- new solutions to invent another future.
- the plane due to its lack of fuel can theoretically fly for ever.
- all technologies in the plane can be used on everything it can reduce our energy consuption in half.
- 1 passenger plane only one pilot can go.
- Arizona is a solar state
A way I would apply sustainable consumption in my city would be more sustainable means of transportation. Well Bogota the city in which I live has been greatly polluted by toxic gases and smoke that the cars produce as they burn fuel. We have applied measures to minimize the number of cars per day bit it is still bot enough. I would go as far as making people ride bikes instead of cars to see the sustainable consumption of fuel increase. Or would do anything to acquire the technology that solar impulse has developed.
Bogota is also well known for producing lots amounts of trash and/or waste. I would find a more sustainable way to get rid of the trash than burning it and harming the environment by gases produced by the burnt trash and so try to minimize the effects of global warming which are becoming very noticeable these days. Sustainability is the future of this planet and we need to develop more technology based on this concept and don't focus as much as we do in development of products like laptops and cellphones. We need to find an Eco-friendly way tom produce these products.

GAFE
In Google Drive you can upload photos, videos, documents, and other files of importance that you want to keep close together. With it you can create documents spreadsheets, presentations and much more things. The awesome thing about Google Drive is that you can access it anywhere with an internet connection, here is a great link fro a video that shows the basics: here.
- spreadsheets: are an interactive computer application program for organization and analysis of data in table/tabular form. It is like a paper accounting worksheet which is basically like a Microsoft Excel. Spreadsheets are really useful for making tables charts and graphic and text organizers they can serve many purposes in school like in math to make data tables or bar graphs or any sort of graphs, etc.
- Documents: this documents are like a Microsoft Word a sheet where o can write or freely edit it. the good thing unlike all the documents you can create in Word is that this docs can be accesed from anywhere with an internet connection. plus you can add people that will be able to see or edit the document with you. this docs are really useful when you are doing a work in partners at school because both of you can edit it at the same time from different places and you can see what he is writing and identify where he is the page well his/her name appears where they are writing.
- Presentations: this is like a PowerPoint or very similar but again you can add people to be able to see or edit it. you can use this when you need something bigger than a document it works for every class and it is very useful.
This Google app is like a social network that can be for educational purposes or just social purposes. I myself have a Google Drive. you have 5 gb of free space. This drive works with an online server form Google.

Google Day 3/ Presentation
- there are 2.5 million nurses according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics\
- there are many different kinds of nurses, and several different ways to obtain this career, this career comes with broad scope of responsibility
- nurses work closely or with physicians/doctors, doctors make the decisions about diagnosis, treatment , and medications and the nurses have to give the patient or administer him on a daily basis with what the doctor requested for the person to heal/recuperate successfully
- nurses must have social skills well they interact more with the patient so that they can make them feel safe, and assist them in any way they can
- there are three educational paths toward becoming a nurse: diploma from an accredited nursing program or hospital, an associate degree in nursing, or a bachelor's degree. Most people choose the bachelors degree or the associate degree, the diplomas have become a path rarely chosen due to the availability and diversity of both the degrees
- nurses work almost anywhere a doctor does: hospitals, doctors offices, clinics, hospice, emergency rooms, intensive care, government agencies, corporations and more like schools and home healthcare
- nurses can also specialize n a specific area of healthcare like: cardiac, pediatric, oncology or any medical specialty.

How many institutions are they that teach you how to become one?
What benefits does this career include?
- there are a wide variety of nursing schools around the world which you can assist to learn how to become a nurse. like: Abilene Christian University, Baylor University, etc.
- before you become a full-fledged nurse you have to pass the NCLEX which stand for National Council Licensure Examination which is a examination for the licensing of nurses in the U.S.
- there are two types of these exams the NCLEX-RN and the NCLEX-PN.
- many universities have give you the option of taking this career well they have an integrated nursing school or you can just go directly to a nursing school instead of going to the university
- the nursing career includes many benefits very reasonable salary, health insurance, dental.vision insurance, pension plans, tax saving plans, life insurance, adoption assistance/child care

- How long can I work in this career before retirement?
What I learned:
- nursing is one of the easiest careers to get into.
- it may take years to finish nurse school but the good thing is that nurses that nurses that have low budgets and little time to learn new skill can get accreditation as nurses in a few months.
- nurses can get paid n a range from 77,000 to 100,000
- the entrance to this kind of career is regulated by the government itself.
- nurses are trained in a variety of medical areas so they can practice or help professionals in any way they need it
- setting nurses can work are many like hospitals or living with people in their home to take care of them, in schools, they can even work in pharmaceutical companies
- now a days it is said to be a shortage of nurses well they few nurses there are, are overloaded with all the patients they have to take care of
- nurses are always frequently multitasking performing the variety of knowledge they learned in all the distinct patients.
- research from 2004 revealed that the average age of nurses is 46.8 years of age
- there are various educational or licensure requirements like a Diploma in Nursing, an Associate Degree in Nursing , Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Phishing
What I Know: That they send you emails that say for example that you have pending notifications so you click on the link but it is a fake Facebook sight so when you sign in you are basically giving them your username and password.
Why do they create these fake websites?
What do these websites do with your information(username and password)?

- It is the act of attempting to acquire information like usernames, passwords, credit cards info, etc.
- They do this by disguising themselves as a known website in an electronic communication, like the website of a bank or Facebook, etc.
- There are different types of fishing techniques: phishing, spear phishing, clone phishing and whaling.
- phishing attempts at specific individuals or companies is spear phishing, attackers gather personal information of their targets to increase their chance of success.
- several recent fishing attempts have been to executive of companies or important wealthy people this is known as whaling.
- phishers have used images instead of text making it harder for anti-phishing filters to detect the text in common phishing emails
- phone phishing also exists you get an email to number a phone like from your bank that there are problems with your account and once you dial it tells you to give them your account number and pin or password. This vishing or voice phishing.
I always get spam email from Facebook saying I have pending notifications, now I will be more careful and don't open the link in these emails. Just access the page from where I ussually access it, to avoid giving phishers my personal info.
Why do they do this and how do they get their targets?

Design project-day 3
Some of the descriptions of what I think is fun, match this game well one of them is be able to challenge your friends and the game we have chosen lets you do this, also that the game is easy to understand and is straightforward. also it has an easy objective to achieve. And it really challenges you and your friends.
The most powerful ideas that I want to keep are that it a soccer based game , that you can play against your fiends, and it is also similar to an air hockey.
The ideas that I do not want to keep is that the game mode is like a "mosca" or progressive that each time that they score a goal on you you have to switch.

- grab a piece of cardboard
- cut it into one large piece and 4 small ones
- paste the four small one on the large for them to function as legs to the large one
- the bring some paddles and a ball
- make some obstacles out of any material and paste them on the field
- then put the game in another class
we will do it all together as a group
ping pong balls( me, Sofia , Juliana)

Design project-day 2
Decide which model has the most strengths (on blog)
Both Sofia's and my model are very good because they were strangely very similar because they were both easy to use and play and simple.
Decide on the details from the other models that you will include (on blog)
-Will have a gap in the parts of the game that are considered out.
-It will be a 4 player game
-Both will include two different soccer teams
-Will have obstacles
-Make the game mosca style
-Decide what might need to be added or taken away from the model in #1 (on blog)
I have to take away some of the obstcles as it weould be almost impossible to win and also adding the gap that acts like an out of bounds space for the game.
Also need to add some more decoration to make the game look cooler so more people will want to play it.M\ke the game like a mosca style game so we need to
. Write down feedback (on blog) that you get from classmates
-What was good- the mosca style, many players at a time, the obstacles, that it is challenging
-What should you consider changing? make it stiffer, make it big.

Design project-day 1
Alejandro Garcia, Juliana Laborde, Sofia Cuellar
Game: for middle school, coed game
Difficulty: medium
What makes a game fun:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sd7x-F5irBY- ticket grab
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6cEWELoxEsY- labyrinth
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJWF-nyZFvk-pinball
ticket grab: i think what was good was that it was very difficult to grab the tickets and it was a very creative idea, what could made better was that the tickets were dropped instead of them being on the floor because people can cheat.
labyrinth: what was good is it had different levels of difficulty and was really well designed, I did not see anything to improve it was a genius idea.
pinball: i this it was very creative and I though it was good how he used disk as blockers and I like levers that push the ball, but the game should not be about chipping it in a box it should be about who lasts longer you could also make the levers more smoothly to move
Brainstorm:

Brainstorm:
- labyrinth
- ball toss
- shazam
- relay race
- fuzzball
- soccer game
- air hockey
- air soccer
fuzzball: good- everyone likes football, it would be a competitive game vs another player, a challenge, you could make bets based on this game, doesn't need our presence, challenge your friends, real life teams.
bad-The field could get damaged,or unstable, the ball could be to bouncy and never go into the goal, goal could get damaged, ball could get lost or break. but we could make it out of reinforced cardboard make it plain and also and give them a lot of balls so they can lose some.
